Yeah, that episode is called "shhhh" and its actually a walter lantz one not a looney tunes one. so i guess wrong wiki

There are a few Warner cartoons that have an extremely close premise that predate "Shhh": "Porky's Hotel", "Good Night Elmer", "A Pest in the House", and "Daffy Duck slept here" all have characters wanting to sleep that keep being disturbed. "Good Night Elmer" from 1940 has absolutely no dialog.

Yes it certainly is Sh-h-h-h-h-h that the O.P. was talking about. I was just making the point that a no dialog cartoon, with a similar premise, and starring Elmer, does indeed predate it by 15 years. Tex Avery was usually the innovator but by this later date he had just about had enough. He definitely "borrowed" the idea to quickly end the contract. Sad that he left theatrical shorts on this note. There was still more than a few years left for cartoon shorts that could have seen him create some great content. Ohh the possibilities!! Thankful for what we did get though. Tex was one of the best if not THE BEST.
