A Message to Gracias is a 1964 Looney Tunes cartoon directed by Robert McKimson.
Title
The title and plot are a reference to the essay Message to Garcia.
Plot
Mexican Revolutionary mice make numerous attempts to deliver a message to General Gracias, but fail when every messenger is caught and eaten by Sylvester. Desperate, El Supremo then resorts to Speedy Gonzales to deliver the message.
After overcoming several of Sylvester's attempts to thwart him, Sylvester has to stop Speedy Gonzales from sending the message he has big plans:
- First Sylvester drives in the speed car to follow Speedy Gonzales with a message., But Sylvester asks for a message for him, Speedy answered him he says "Adios sinor pussy gato signed..." and the dust formed the word "Speedy" then Sylvester tries to catch up with him., Then Speedy has a lunch break then Sylvester runs over a cactus.
- Then Sylvester is on a boat to shoot Speedy with the message, as he bumps and shoots the boat, He almost got eaten by those crocodiles.
- While Speedy asking the viewers what Sylvester is up to next, Then Sylvester plays a booby-trap on Speedy., As he got something, it's a bulldog, Speedy watches Sylvester gets beaten by a bulldog, All of Sylvester's fur falls and the part of the head falls and Sylvester too., Speedy knows the part of Sylvester's head is belongs to him, Then Sylvester knows that it his, Then Sylvester thanks him.
- Finally Sylvester tries to lasso Speedy with a message as he hangs on to him, Speedy ties him up in a tree.
Speedy delivers the important message to the general only for it to turn out to be a rather trivial message saying "Happy Birthday", much to his disgust because he had gone through all the trouble he had with Sylvester for such a relatively trivial message ("This is A important message?"), implying that El Supremo is very lazy to the point that he is overly dependent on Speedy and other mice for even the less important matters. He promptly cuts the "pussy gato" out of his bonds and lets him chase off Gracias and his consort as retribution for the rebels they allowed him to eat. As Sylvester chases both El Supremo and General Gracias, he even imitates Speedy's catchphrases. Speedy watches this from afar and comments "Well whataya know, it looks like the generals and the pussygatos is going to have lunch together. Sort of gets ya right here (in the heart), no?" Iris-out.
