Plot[]
Cecil Crow from Iowa wants to see a hula dancer. He and Sammy Seagull have stowed away on the same ship. They come within distance of a tropical island. The island is home to a hula dancer named Laylani. Cecil and Sammy take turns trying to impress the female dancer.

- Production on this cartoon began in 1941 sometime before Tex Avery left. This is evidenced by the fact that one of the model sheets is dated 5 April 1941.
- The cartoon was officially greenlit for production on 22 April 1941.[3]
- The USA Turner "dubbed" version keeps the original 1941-55 MWRA end cue, while the EU Turner "dubbed" version replaces the original 1941-55 MWRA end cue with the 1938-41 MWRA end cue.
- MeTV aired this short 11 June 2022 on Saturday Morning Cartoons; however, this airing appears unrestored, using the Turner dubbed version.
- The working title for the short was "Gulls-A-Poppin'"[3]
- The working title is a play on the musical revue Hellzapoppin'.
