Bedtime for Sniffles is a 1940 Merrie Melodies short directed by Chuck Jones.

Plot[]

In his little sardine can house, Sniffles tries to stay awake and wait up to see Santa on Christmas Eve. Sniffles is sweeping up and singing "Jingle Bells" while he waits for Santa. In just an hour, Santa will be here. He makes a cup of Haxwell Mouse Coffee and reads Good Mousekeeping magazine while he waits, only to have it all go to waste, as he falls asleep anyway.

The Blue Ribbon reissue uses the 1945–55 opening Merrie Melodies cue, then proceeds to audio holding the original film.
While the USA Turner dubbed version replaces the original 1939–41 Merrie Melodies ending music cue with the 1941–55 ending music cue, the EU Turner dubbed version retains the original ending music cue.
Sniffles has a "Monahan" brand clock, a reference to writer Dave Monahan.
As late as 2008, a 35mm print of this short with its original titles was known to exist.^[6]
The sign-off of radio station KFWB references the Los Angeles radio station Warner Bros. founded that was sold in 1950.
