  • curprev 20:0620:06, 20 September 2022Tt918 talk contribsm 3,462 bytes +416 In the documentaries and on Eliza's Review Blog for the cartoons, it was confirmed that Bugs Bunny's prototype was unnamed and was never ever called "Happy Rabbit" in the 1930's and that the name was actually made up by Mel Blanc in the 1970's. But in the model sheet for the prototype Bugs, that Charile Thorson did for Ben Hardaway and Cal Dalton for Merrie Melodies cartoon called "Hare-um Scare-um (in 1939), he wrote "Bug's Bunny" on it with the apostrophe placed between the "g" and the "s".
