Bill Hammer was an animator who worked for the Ub Iwerks studio, Leon Schlesinger Productions, and Screen Gems.
Career[]
Hammer began his career as an animator at Ub Iwerks' cartoon studio and animated for Leon Schlesinger Productions when Iwerks was subcontracted to direct cartoons for the studio. Following Bob Clampett receiving his own animation unit, Hammer became an animator for his first few cartoons.[1] He later moved to Walter Lantz and the Screen Gems cartoon studio during Frank Tashlin's tenure.[2]
