Booby Traps is a 1944 Private SNAFU short.

Synopsis

Private Snafu is on North African desert patrol. He’s too smart to get caught by an enemy booby trap. He avoids the booby-trapped shower, but that camel with a contact mine for an udder. Then he finds an Arab harem full of barely clad beauties. There’s the hookah full of TNT instead of tobacco, and one of the girls has bombs where her shapely curves should be. And there’s a piano. The music for “All Those Endearing Young Charms” rests on top. One of the keys is booby-trapped with explosives, but Pvt. Snafu can’t seem to get that last note.

Notes

The booby-trapped piano, with the key triggering the dynamite being the last one in a phrase from the song Believe Me, If All Those Endearing Charms, is a gag used in several Warner Bros. cartoons. This is the first use of that gag.

Additional Credits
