Bugs Bunny's Hare-Raising Tales is one of three compilations released in the Warner Bros. Cartoon Cavalcade series of videos in 1988.
Description[]
That wise guy wabbit takes a wrong turn at Albuquerque and winds up in six hilarious adventures featuring favorites of legends, myths and fairy tales. And when a cartoon classic like Bugs Bunny gets involved with the classic characters of literature, the laughs are truly timeless.
Early onm the cartoon directors at Warner Bros. found that placing the Brooklyn-born bunny in an unusual setting - a different time period, or perhaps a storybook situation - made for funnier films. For example in Rabbit Hood, Bugs tries to pick carrots in Sherwood Forest, but must contend with a frustrated Sheriff od Nottingham, a goofy Little John and a live-action Robin Hood (Errol Flynn in a surprise cameo).
They soon found that Bugs Bunny was funny in any situation, be it on a deserted island with long-time nemesis Castaway Sam (Rabbitson Crusoe), buying a house of sticks from the Three Little Pigs (The Windblown Hare) or performing Shakespeare with Witch Hazel (A Witch's Tangled Hare).
No wonder he's been a star for 50 years.
