Dr. Wendal and Mr. Taz is an episode of Taz-Mania directed by Keith Baxter.  It first aired 15 Nov 1994.

The title and episode are a play on Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

Mr. Thickley is narrating another episode of Taz-Manian Theater, chapter 43 of Dr. Taz and Mr. Wendal. In it, Taz has volunteered to spend one month in an isolation chamber for a scientific experiment. After just ten minutes, the hatch opens, Wendal T. Wolf enters, and the counter resets from one month to ten years. Taz panics and tries to get away from the neurotic wolf, who only joined the experiment to spend time with him. Wendal tries what he thinks is a tanning booth, but it's really an Ultra Gamma Ray Testing Booth. Now whenever Wendal gets angry, or even thinks about anger, he momentarily turns into a giant brute and beats up Taz. After a few such angry moments, the pair watch some television. Taz-Manian Theater comes on and, upset with his comments, Taz pulls Mr. Thickley through the screen and into the chamber with them. Mr. Thickley quickly narrates the ending, in a way that pleases Wendal of course.

  • Though the title card says "Dr. Wendal and Mr. Taz," Mr. Thickley calls it "Dr. Taz and Mr. Wendal." Thickley would seem to have it right, since Wendal transforms as the Hyde character does. Presumably the title changed in post-production to scan better, since Wendal sounds more like Jekyll.
