Eligible Bachelors is the tenth episode of The Looney Tunes Show.
Plot
The neighborhood’s most annoying bachelorette, Lola Bunny, ends a bidding war for Bugs Bunny when she puts $100,000 on the table. She takes Bugs and flies him to Paris to see the Louvre, Eiffel Tower and Versailles, hoping the City of Lights will lead to amour. Daffy Duck is a much cheaper date, and Granny bids on him so she can have some help cleaning her attic. She regales the reluctant duck with tales of her time in Paris during World War II, and Daffy is riveted.
Notes
- The first series German Tiger Tank makes an appearance (see the Gallery section).
- Granny's story is based on the 1964 movie The Train, where Nazi soldiers transfer Arts on to a train which will depart from Paris. Frankenheimer's name is a reference on the director of "The Train" John Frankenheimer.
- Granny's World War II flashbacks may be a homage or reference to the classic Looney Tunes World War II propaganda cartoons such as "Plane Daffy", "Draftee Daffy",and "Scrap Happy Daffy". Unlike those cartoons, however, the swastikas and real-life references are edited out or not mentioned for obvious reasons.
