Kool-Aid is a packaged drink mix created in 1927 and owned by Kraft Foods. Bugs Bunny and other Looney Tunes characters appeared on packaging and advertising for the product in the 1960s.

All of the classic Kool-Aid commercials feature Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd. Some of them are directed by Tex Avery during his time at Cascade. It was the first time that Avery handled Bugs and Elmer in two decades. The executives did not know that he had created the characters.[1]

Later commercials featured Bugs in live action settings. In 1970, Bugs appeared in commercials for Kool-Aid alongside the Monkees, which at the time consisted of Micky Dolenz, Davy Jones, and Michael Nesmith. In each commercial, Bugs greets an individual member of the Monkees with a variation of "What's up, doc?"
