Daffy Duck's Easter Show, also known as Daffy Duck's Easter Special, is a 1980 Looney Tunes Easter special starring Daffy Duck. It was sponsored by McDonald's.

Plot

Introduction

Daffy Duck introduces his show upon a yellow background, but when he realizes it is empty, he requests the animator to add the title and Easter decorations. The animator obliges to painting a single pink Easter egg, then the special's title in a sloppily drawn brown font. When Daffy complains that the title is "one step above graffiti" and that there's nothing colorful on the screen except him and the Easter egg, the egg falls and breaks. After mopping it up, the animator draws a brown O where the egg used to be, causing Daffy to request some more color besides brown. The animator responds by throwing blue paint all over Daffy, further annoying him as the animator later cleans off the paint.

Act 1

Now setup on a blue background, Daffy tells that Easter is the time of the year to don costumes related to the holiday. He tells the animator to dress him up, which leads to the animator painting a diving suit over Daffy. Daffy exclaims that's what he didn't had in mind and that he wishes he could erase animators, while the animator hurriedly draws his dress suit from The Bugs Bunny Show. As he calls for a parade, a chorus line of chickens runs over Daffy, with Foghorn Leghorn later arriving to tell Daffy that he needs to prepare for Foghorn's picture. As Foghorn shoves Daffy out of the way, he forgets what his first line for the cartoon is, which the animator helps out by painting "Cock-a-doodle-doo!" on the screen. Foghorn states he likes meaty dialogue as the first cartoon starts, "The Yolks on You".

Act 2

Daffy arrives back, yelling at the animator that for an Easter show, he has yet to see a single Easter basket. The animator paints one, while Daffy asks for an Easter chicken to go with it. However, the animator paints a chick costume over Daffy, and an embarrassed Daffy refuses to continue on until it is erased. However, the animator forces him to move using a seesaw with an anvil which lands Daffy into water, forcing Daffy to use the Easter basket as a boat. Angered, Daffy yells at the animator again, but the animator responds by drawing a water torpedo against Daffy. He requests the next picture to start while he tries to escape, "The Chocolate Chase".

Act 3

Daffy states that springtime brings in Easter and flowers, asking the animator to paint flowers. The animator erases Daffy's body and paints a daffodil over Daffy's head, leaving Daffy stuck. However, he is forced to run off when the animator draws a bumblebee, with Daffy running past a "North" sign, foreshadowing the final cartoon of the show, "Daffy Flies North".

Epilouge

Having enough, Daffy arrives with a hair shaver, threatening to cut off the brush when it appears again. However, when he uses it, the animator just retreats and the shaver backfires on Daffy, defeathering him. Asking the animator to cover him, the animator paints an Easter egg over Daffy, trapping him inside. Additionally, it paints a door stating to not open the egg until next Easter. When Daffy tries to exit, he sees the animator's brush threatening him, prompting Daffy to hide in the egg, ending the special.

Notes

• In later releases of the special, the title was changed to Daffy Duck's Easter EGG-citment, and such change was reflected on the title card, which has the title's text slightly reanimated for the new name. Additionally, the animator paints a brown easter egg instead of a brown O in the EGG-citement release.
• This is the second time since "Duck Amuck" that Daffy argues with the animator.
• The DVD and digital releases include the bonus cartoons "Easter Yeggs" (1947) and "Golden Yeggs" (1950).
• This television special marks the final Looney Tunes project for DePatie-Freleng Enterprises before the studio had shut down in 1981.
