LOONEY TOONS Gripes (Private Snafu) (1943) (Remastered) (HD 1080p)

Gripes is a 1943 Private Snafu short directed by Friz Freleng.

Plot

Snafu is complaining that he joined the Army to have fun, but they put him on KP duty, which upsets him. He then gets a fever. He tells the audience that "If I ran this army, boy I'm telling you, I'd make a few changes, that's just what I'd do!" Suddenly, Technical Fairy First Class appears and promotes Snafu to "Master Sarge Super Sarge." Snafu immediately gives each man two women, gives the soldiers limousines, and calls off drills and cleaning duties. Snafu is relaxing in a harem of women when Technical Fairy appears and says that the Germans are coming. He gets a gun but wonders where his troops are. All of the people say "Ah, nertz!" and show no interest in fighting. A Nazi aircraft drops a bomb. Snafu quickly digs a hole to take cover from it, but the bomb stops, digs up the dirt, places a target sign on Snafu's exposed rear, and dives down, causing an explosion. The entire experience is revealed to be a dream as Snafu wakes up. Delighted, he immediately returns to KP duty. Technical Fairy says that "the sooner you woik, the sooner we'll beat Hitler, that joik!"
