Here Today, Gone Tamale is a 1959 Looney Tunes short directed by Friz Freleng.
Plot
Sylvester won't give some hungry Mexican mice access to a ship full of cheese. Speedy Gonzales decides to challenge him. He proceeds to raid the ship over and over again, making a fool of Sylvester in the process. Sylvester gives in by attending a dance party that the mice throw in celebration of Speedy getting all the cheese.
Availability
- VHS - Looney Tunes: The Collectors Edition Volume 9: A Looney Life
- DVD - Looney Tunes Golden Collection: Volume 4, Disc 3 (Not included in the Region 2 version)
Censorship
On Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and Boomerang, the scene of a famished Fernando attempting to commit suicide with a pistol and giving his sombrero hat to his friend (who asks him if he can have it when Fernando is dead), only to be spared from suicide from another fellow mouse because there is hope to get the cheese in the form of Speedy Gonzales is cut.[1][2]
Notes
- This is the only Speedy Gonzales cartoon written by Michael Maltese.
- Despite this cartoon starting with blue rings, it ends with red rings.
