Hulu (stylized as hulu) is an American entertainment company that provides streaming services to customers who subscribe.[1] It is primarily oriented towards instant streaming of television series, carrying current and past episodes of many series from its owners' respective television networks and other content partners. Hulu is owned by Hulu LLC, a joint venture with The Walt Disney Company (holds 70% stake) and Comcast (via NBCUniversal; holds 30% stake).
Some of Hulu's competitors include Netflix and Amazon. Previously, Hulu offered free streaming with commercials, but in 2016, Hulu made commercial streaming available for a small fee. Hulu Plus remained in its purchase plan. Hulu is currently offered only to users in the United States, its territories, and Japan. The CEO, Randy Freer, announced that by the end of 2018, Hulu had around 23 million subscribers.
Hulu has offered Animaniacs, Tiny Toon Adventures, Pinky and the Brain, and Pinky, Elmyra & The Brain to stream from 2018 to 2023.[2] The revival of Animaniacs was released 20 November 2020 exclusively for Hulu.[3] Hulu targets the revival as its first family animated series. Freakzoid! was not included in the deal.
