Las Vegas (also known as Sin City or Vegas) is a city in the United States in the state of Nevada. Las Vegas is part of Clark County and is best known for its hotel zone, known as the Las Vegas Strip, casinos, buffets, golf courses, and cheap real estate. Las Vegas bills itself as "The Entertainment Capital of the World". As such, Las Vegas is one of the most popular tourist sites in the world. Las Vegas was incorporated in 1911.
The Las Vegas Metropolian Area is best known for Red Rock Canyon National Park, The Las Vegas Speedway, Hoover Dam and much more.The Las Vegas Metropolitan Area, including the unincorporated Paradise (the Las Vegas Strip), Enterprise, and Winchester areas and the cities of Henderson and North Las Vegas, has a population of about 1,951,000 as of 2010.
The 2004 cartoon "Hare and Loathing in Las Vegas" has its main setting in Las Vegas. Also, in Looney Tunes: Back in Action, one of the settings is at a Las Vegas casino where Daffy and the gang are searching for Yosemite Sam and the blue monkey diamond.
