Looney Tunes Wiki

This is a list of MPAA certificates for Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies cartoons. Starting in 1934, the Motion Picture Producers and Distributors of America—also known as the Hays Office—issued "approval certificates" for films submitted. After the vertically-integrated studios were ordered disbanded after the 1949 Supreme Court decision United States v. Paramount Pictures, Inc., the MPPDA became the MPAA, or Motion Picture Association of America. Early films—including Warner Bros. cartoons—tended to have a large disclaimer play shortly before the opening titles. Starting with "My Green Fedora", Warner Bros. cartoons simply put the MPPDA certificate number in the technical credits rather than making a separate slide.
