Looney Tunes Spotlight Collection is a collection of animated shorts released on DVD by Warner Bros. It was created as a more family-friendly, affordable companion to the higher priced Looney Tunes Golden Collection sets aimed at collectors. The collection contains cartoons from the Merrie Melodies and Looney Tunes series.
Background[]
Each volume contains a unique DVD box art containing a wide variety of Looney Tunes characters (both major, supporting, recurring, minor, and background) representing the type of cartoons released in each volume.
Many of the cartoons included on these sets are also already available, along with many other cartoons, on the aforementioned Golden Collection sets. The only exception is the third volume/Movie Collection, which consisted of two movies that are not available in the Golden Collection. Unlike the Golden Collection sets, these only had two discs instead of four, and do not contain any bonus features, with the sole exception of the sixth volume's bonus cartoons carried over from the Golden Collection.
Attempted successor[]
The series attempted to have a successor during the release of the Looney Tunes Platinum Collection series, being the Looney Tunes Showcase, which similarly released half of the contents of the Platinum Collection as an affordable alternative. However, poor sales of Showcase led to the successor series being cancelled. Shortly before the final volume of Platinum Collection released, the final volume of Spotlight Collection was released.

Notes[]
- "Mouse Wreckers" is the only short from Looney Tunes Golden Collection: Volume 2 to not be present in any of the Spotlight Collection releases.
Missing Golden Collection restored shorts[]
The following shorts are not present in the Spotlight Collection, making them exclusive to the Golden Collection at the time. Of the 359 restored shorts included on the Golden Collection, 154 are not included. Some of these shorts are intentionally excluded from Spotlight Collection such as "Southern Fried Rabbit" or any of the WWII-themed shorts for example, due to them containing ethnic and racial stereotypes and/or other content that is deemed inappropriate for family audiences such as extreme gun violence, suicide gags, adult humor, amongst others.
