The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is an annual parade presented by the U.S. chain department store business Macy's. The tradition started in 1924, tying it for the second-oldest Thanksgiving parade in the United States along with America's Thanksgiving Parade in Detroit, with both parades four years younger than the Dunkin' Donuts Thanksgiving Day Parade in Philadelphia.

In 1989, to celebrate the character's 50th Birthday, a Bugs Bunny balloon, munching on a large carrot and sitting on a golden star with "50" on it was introduced into the parade, alongside a Warner Bros. parade float with the Looney Tunes characters on it. However, the balloon missed it's debut, as the balloon was torn by a tree before the parade started, so the float had to go on without the balloon.

In 1990, the Balloon finally made it's proper debut. The float that year had Bugs, alongside the cast of Tiny Toon Adventures. In 1991, the float made it's last appearance promoting Taz-Mania and so featured characters from that series, with the balloon appearing afterwards. The balloon itself made it's last appearance in 1992, after-which it was retired.
