Porky the Rain-Maker is a 1936 Looney Tunes short directed by Tex Avery.
Plot[]
A severe drought is withering the crops on Porky Pig's family's farm, and their animals demand feed. Porky's father sends him to the store to buy feed for their animals. When Porky gets to the store, a traveling salesman is selling pills that can create different kinds of weather. Porky buys those instead of the feed. When he gets home, his father gets mad and throws the pills, which spill all over. The animals gobble up the pills and "weather" the consequences, such as lightning, fog, or cyclones. Porky is finally able to explain the situation to his father, and they look for the pills. Porky spies a rain pill, but before he can grab it, a duck snaps it up. Luckily, the duck spits the pill high into the sky, where it explodes into a thundercloud. The rain begins to fall, and the farm is saved.

Notes[]
- The cartoon "Sioux Me" would be released three years later with the same story premise. Directed by Ben Hardaway and Cal Dalton, it features a Native American main cast and no appearance by Porky Pig.
- This cartoon was submitted for an Oscar nomination in 1936, but never nominated.
- The 2020 restoration for HBO Max has a goof in the opening titles, wherein Little Kitty's left shoe appears to be duplicated.
