Rhode Island Red is a Rhode Island Rooster, who was Foghorn Leghorn's old college roommate, pal and rival, appearing in Raw! Raw! Rooster!. When he his college pal comes to visit his old friend, Foghorn finds Red to be loud and obnoxious when he calls Red "that loudmouth" to the point, he does attempt to rid him from the barn. Red is shown to be a talented singer/musician and a charmer with the pretty hens in the barn, making Foghorn jealous of him. Red is shown to be quite the clever trickster, but he does get outwitted by Foghorn by the end of the cartoon.
Red is based on Rhode Island Red Rooster, while his voice is patterned after Jackie Gleason.
