Road to Andalay is a 1964 Merrie Melodies short directed by Friz Freleng and Hawley Pratt.
Title
The title is a reference to the Bob Hope and Bing Crosby's Road movies such as Road to Hong Kong and Road to Bali, along with Speedy's signature phrase.
Plot
In his latest attempt to capture Speedy Gonzales, Sylvester uses the assistance of a falcon named Malcolm Falcon, all with disastrous results, either due to the bird's incompetence or aggressive nature.
Censorship
Some syndicated versions (and versions shown on CBS' Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Show) cut the part where Malcolm Falcon rips Sylvester's scalp off his head.
Notes
- This is the only short where both Speedy Gonzales and Sylvester lose in the end.
- This is the first and only short with the layouts by Homer Jonas (credited him as the assistant layout artist)
- The official WB Kids channel included four minutes of this short in their "Best of Speedy Gonzales" Compilation.
