Slightly Daffy is a 1944 Merrie Melodies short directed by Friz Freleng.
Plot
Daffy and General Porky, wearing a Napoleon-style hat, command a Cavalry outpost in the old west. Porky is asleep, so when they get attacked by Indians, Daffy is the only one who sees them. A series of gags ensue, resulting in Porky demanding more ammunition. While Daffy carries the ammunition, he accidently swallows some it and turns into a machine gun, which Porky uses to drive off the Indians.
Caricatures

Notes
- This is a color remake of the 1939 cartoon "Scalp Trouble".
- Like "Scalp Trouble", this short is seldom shown on American television nowadays due to its stereotypical portrayal of Native Americans.
- Because of this, the short will not be restored for the HBO Max streaming service.
- Some of the fights gags feature recycled animation from "Johny Smith and Poker-Huntas" and "The Hardship of Miles Standish".
- Some Blue Ribbon prints have the 1939-40 opening theme plastered.[2]
- While the original titles are known to exist, it is unknown if they will be acquired for future releases.
