Spike is an one-shot Looney Tunes character who only appeared in the cartoon "A Waggily Tale" as a minor antagonist.
Description[]
Spike is a scrappy, small dog with thick and bushy black fur. He's very mean and vicious with a bad temper. As long as Melvin carries along with him with a leash, he's controllable.
Much like Sam Sheepdog, his eyes are often hardly seen due to them being covered by his fur.
Appearances[]
- "A Waggily Tale" (1958)
Notes[]
- Spike is not to be confused for the big, grey bulldog of the same name who paired with Chester in two Friz Freleng-directed cartoons "Tree for Two" (1952) and "Dr. Jerkyl's Hide" (1954). Co-incidentally, both "Spikes" are created by Friz Freleng, and are mean and vicious canines with bad tempers.
- Despite Spike being a dog, he makes cat sounds when attacking Junior (as a dog). In reality, dogs sound nothing like that of house cats. However, this may have been an intended comedic moment.
