TBS (Turner Broadcasting System) is an American cable network owned by WarnerMedia. Some of its known sister channels are HBO, TNT and Cartoon Network. The channel launched in 1976.

TBS aired reruns of the pre-1948 package of Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies in the 1980s and 1990s. They stopped when they started focusing on syndictation of primetime programming in the 2000s. TBS also does sports programming, though less than its sister channel TNT.

TBS plays reruns of syndicated programming in a compressed format and split the credits of one show and the intro to the next show together to allow for more commercials to air. Currently, TBS has syndication rights to Friends, Seinfeld, Bob's Burgers, American Dad! (new episodes are also on TBS), The Big Bang Theory, and Family Guy, with the animated shows shared with Cartoon Network. TBS also has some original content as well such as Final Space, Conan, and The Last O.G. All of TBS' current original content is distributed by Warner Bros. Television, except for American Dad!, which is distributed by 20th Television, 20th Century Fox’s syndication division.
