Goofs[]
- When four of Porky's siblings are shown in the stocks, there are two extra spaces (for Porky and Petunia). Later, when Petunia is kidnapped, there are only 5 spaces, and Petunia looks the exact same as Porky's other siblings.
Notes[]
- This cartoon parodies many of the typical horror movie elements of the 1930s, particularly the movies from Universal Studios.
- In this short, Petunia Pig appears as Porky Pig's sister rather than his girlfriend, as in her other appearances.
- The animation of Porky running up and down the stairs was later reused in "Jeepers Creepers" (1939).
- Porky has a brother named "Portis," a reference to the hometown of story writer Melvin Millar.
- The fourth wall is broken in this cartoon; the monster tells the audience not to interfere with his plan, particularly antagonizing "the guy in the third row." At the end of the short, when a theater chair gets thrown at the monster, it is revealed that the same "guy in the third row" threw it.
- The opening scene was used as the intro for a David Letterman segment, "New Halloween Costumes".
