The Home Front is a 1943 Private Snafu short directed by Frank Tashlin.
Plot[]
Pvt. Snafu, on the front lines in the dead of winter, complains that his family and girlfriend are probably living a comfortable life back home, imagining his father shooting pool, his mother playing bridge, his grandpa going to a strip club, and his girlfriend cheating on him. The Technical Fairy, however, shows him what they're actually doing: his father is building tanks, his mother is planting a victory garden (with the help of a talking cat and horse), his grandpa is building ships in a shipyard, and his girlfriend has joined the Women's Army Corps (WAC).

Goofs[]
- When Snafu's grandfather goes through the shipyard construction, an overlay cel error makes him appear to be a giant.
Censorship[]
- Some versions cut the narrator's line, "It's so cold, it would freeze the nuts off a jeep."[1]
Notes[]
- This short is in the public domain, since it was made by the U.S. government, then declassified some years later.
