The Menace of the Mastermind is the eleventh episode of Loonatics Unleashed. It first aired on February 18, 2006.
Synopsis[]
The Loonatics find themselves at odds with an old adversary of Tech's: Mallory Mastermind. When Mallory escapes from prison, she has eyes set on revenge against Tech and hijacks the Loonatics' HQ. Tech must use all of his brain power to defeat her.
Plot[]
At the Acmetropolis Subterranean Prison, the Warden is giving a new guard a tour of the prison where he introduces Mallory Mastermind, a former Acme Tech student who attempted to steal brainpower from the university staff until her grad student Tech managed to stop her. Since she has the ability to turn any metal object into a weapon, the Warden has removed every metal from her cell including the staples that bind her books together. As the guard is making a note of it, he notices his metal ballpoint pen is missing unaware that Mallory stole it. She turns the pen into her personal robot assistant. The penpal then hijacks a nearby construction bot which Mallory uses to escape.
At the Loonatics HQ, Danger Duck is playing in the virtual simulator thinking it's a video game despite Tech's protests. Eventually Tech alters the simulator to have huge lasers pointing at him and burning him up. Soon after, the two are called by Ace saying that Zadavia's contacting them about a prison escape. At the comm center, the group finds out the escape convict is Mastermind, much to Tech's worry. After Tech explains his history with her with the group, the Loonatics trace some weird electronic activity to an abandoned construction site, thinking it's Mastermind. Soon after Mallory ambushes them at the site and sends out reprogrammed construction vehicles after the group. They managed to subdue them but Mallory escapes in the process, and Tech believes he has something to stop her.
On the way back to HQ, Ace notices that the lights are still on where it's revealed that Mallory took over their HQ and sends out security drones that shoots their ship out of the sky. They manage to land safely only to find that Mastermind locked them out so Slam tunnels his way into the base.
Trivia[]
- The Penpal that Mastermind creates resembles Yoyo Dodo from the original Looney Tunes shorts.
