The Merrie Melodies Show is an animated anthology series which compiled theatrical cartoons from the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies series, which were produced by Warner Bros. Cartoons between 1948 and 1969. The show is hosted by Speedy Gonzales, Sylvester, and Daffy Duck, with majority of the episodes having at least one cartoon starring one of the three. Notes[]
- During the series' original run, all of the non-Road Runner DePatie-Freleng Enterprises cartoons and all of the mainline Warner Bros.-Seven Arts cartoons aired. Additionally, only two cartoons released before the 1959-64 season aired on the show, those being "Corn Plastered" and "Birds Anonymous".
- However, certain pre-1959 cartoons are shown in the bridging segments of the show before each cartoon.
- This anthology show is notable for being the only time that the final Warner Bros. cartoon, "Injun Trouble", has fully aired on American television, as it was quickly banned following the Native American stereotypes.
- This is the first anthology program to credit Hal Geer as an associate producer.[2][3]
