The Road Runner: A Very Scary Lesson is a book from Little Golden Books published in 1974 starring Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner. Like the Beep Beep the Road Runner comic books, in this book Road Runner speaks in rhyme and has three roadrunner sons, with Wile E. Coyote also speaking.
Plot[]
Road Runner teaches his sons about how dangerous Wile E. Coyote is and that in order to stay healthy, roadrunners have to beep and run. One day Wile E. tricks the three young roadrunner's with an old wrecked truck with a horn that sounds like a roadrunner, and he chases them until a mother mountain lion (who made friends with the roadrunners) scares Wile E. off.
Peter Pan Records[]
In 1977, Peter Pan Records adapted a book and record version of the book. The cover of the book is different, but the illustrations are the same. The wording was also different and in this adaption, Road Runner only said "beep-beep" just like in the cartoons instead of speaking in rhyme. Wile E. however still spoke in this version, but he was not voiced by Mel Blanc and he sounded completely different.
