The Woodpecker is a Looney Tunes character.
He first appeared in 1945's "Peck Up Your Troubles", where he defeated Sylvester, as he broke the stairs while Sylvester was going up for catch him. His second and last appearance was in 1953's "A Peck o' Trouble", where he was the "wished breakfast" from Dodsworth, a lazy, fat cat.

- He was originally set to be a recurring character, who would be paired with Sylvester by Friz Freleng, but after taking over Bob Clampett's unproduced fourth Tweety short project "Tweetie Pie" (which pairs Tweety with Sylvester for the first time), his role was eventually given to Tweety.
