- This article is about the 1980 Looney Tunes short. For the Baby Looney Tunes segment, see The Yolk's on You.
The Yolks on You is a 1980 Looney Tunes short directed by Art Davis, Dave Detiege, Gerry Chiniquy, and Tony Benedict.
Plot[]
Miss Prissy is late for Foghorn Leghorn's egg expectation. Foghorn is disappointed in Miss Prissy for being late and not laying a normal round white egg. Foghorn gives Prissy only one last chance that if she does not lay a normal egg, she will be sent to the old hens farm. He decides that Miss Prissy lays the turquoise Easter Eggs. Prissy tries to lay a turquoise egg, but she lays a golden egg. Afraid that she will lose her job, Prissy pushes the golden egg away from the barn via a hole.
Daffy Duck and Sylvester are outside the barnyard, scouting for food inside trash cans. A reluctant Sylvester is disgusted, but Daffy reminds him that at least he has a friend. Then, the golden egg rolls towards Daffy, and he blurts out that he found it. Sylvester finds out and attempts to take the egg for himself. Eventually, the two fight for the egg, via slamming Sylvester with a fence and rock and stealing the egg from Daffy while in a taxi, eventually losing the egg. Upon realizing that they cannot let the egg ruin their friendship, they decide to camouflage the egg by painting it white and hiding it back at where Miss Prissy's nest was. However, they end up sending the egg to an egg farm.
Sylvester and Daffy heads toward the egg farm, cracking numerous eggs in attempt to find the painted golden egg. Sylvester teases Daffy that he'll be eating the "biggest omelet in the history of eggs", which Daffy sarcastically laughs at.

Notes[]
- This short was originally part of Daffy Duck's Easter Egg-citement, before later being reissued as a standalone short for TV.
- This is the first appearance of Daffy Duck in a short since 1968.
- This also marks the first time since 1963 which Daffy has been recast as a more likable and sympathetic protagonist/anti-hero, compared to the "evil Daffy" characterization exhibited in the mid-to-late-1960s cartoons from the DePatie-Freleng and Seven-Arts eras.
- This is the first appearance of Miss Prissy since 1961.
- This is the first time Arthur Davis has directed a Looney Tunes or Merrie Melodies short since 1962. He would direct one more cartoon in the same year.
- This is the first time Daffy, Sylvester, and Foghorn Leghorn appear together. However, Foghorn's plot is separate from Sylvester and Daffy's.
- Both Sylvester and Daffy had each separately appeared in a Foghorn cartoon previously, Sylvester in "Crowing Pains" and Daffy in "The High and the Flighty".
- MeTV aired this short on June 5, 2021, on Toon In With Me; however, this airing appears unrestored.
Goofs[]
- When Sylvester points at Daffy's beak when confronting the duck about the golden egg he's hiding behind his back, his left hand briefly appears transparent due to it being not colored in one frame.
