Hello guys, AzUrArInG here, and today, I have a possibly theory of who could've been the uncredited writer to some of the shorts directed by Chuck Jones around 1941 to 1942.

For those not knowing, it's the ones that don't have a credited writer in Jones' shorts such as Saddle Silly (1941), Porky's Midnight Matinee (1941), The Bird Came C.O.D. (1942) (I checked the opening credits for that one and Tedd Pierce wasn't credited nor had any credited writer in the short), Porky's Cafe (1942), and Dog Tired (1942).

I believe that the writer for those shorts might be done by the writer Rich Hogan, who's more known for writing for Tex Avery in some Warner Bros. shorts but especially in the MGM shorts Tex Avery, sort of, in a way.

The reason why I believe so is because Rich Hogan's final shorts that had him credited as a writer, which are mainly the last 7 shorts in a row, were all noticeably written for Chuck Jones' unit, and since Tex Avery left around 1941 with a few crew members such as Rich Hogan for other studios, they were pretty much left uncredited.

Like I said before, since the last 7 shorts Rich Hogan wrote that he was credited on were all written by Chuck Jones, and since Saddle Silly (1941), Porky's Midnight Matinee (1941), The Bird Came C.O.D. (1942), Porky's Cafe (1942), and Dog Tired (1942) don't have any writers credit whatsoever, I assume that the uncredited writer for those 5 shorts were all done written by Rich Hogan and since he left, his credits were removed.

While this could all be wrong entirely, but I just believe this might be the case since there wasn't any writer aside from Rich Hogan that wrote the shorts, and Tedd Pierce pretty much replaced Rich Hogan after Hogan's departure from Warner Bros. and after Tedd Pierce returned from the Fleischer's Studio.
