Wackyland is a fictional place in Looney Tunes that first appears in "Porky in Wackyland". It's a surreal location from Darkest Africa that proclaims to have "100 nuts and a squirrel". Porky travels here to find Yoyo Dodo, who is supposedly the last living dodo. As the name of the location implies, it's creatures and things that go on here are completely crazy and defy logic and reason, such as floating swings, creatures carrying the sun, etc.
Wackyland reappears in "Dough for the Do-Do", a 1949 color remake of "Porky in Wackyland", and briefly appears as part of the fantasy sequence of the Censored 11 cartoon "Tin Pan Alley Cats".
Wackyland reappears in the Looney Tunes Cartoons short "Daffy in Wackyland".
Gogo Dodo resides here in Tiny Toon Adventures.
Notes[]
- It's name is likely meant to be a parody of the the location Wonderland from the Lewis Carroll literature books Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and it's sequel Through the Looking-Glass, which is also known to have creatures and things that are completely crazy and defy logic and reason.
- A similar location with similarly insane, logic-defying alien creatures also appears in the Tex Avery-directed MGM cartoon "The Cat That Hated People", except that it is set on the moon.
