Weathering Heights is the fourth episode of Loonatics Unleashed. It first aired on October 8, 2005.

Title[]

The title is a play on Emily Bronte's 1847 book Wuthering Heights.

Synopsis[]

A disgruntled assistant becomes a supervillain named Weathervane, causing a global superstorm in revenge for being mistreated by weather girl Misty Breeze. This does not sit well with Danger Duck who's revealed to be a big fan of Misty.

Plot[]

At Acmetropolis City Hall, Paula Hayes is an up-and-coming weather girl and assistant to current and incredibly mean weather girl, Misty Breeze who belittles and insults her for her lower status. After Paula is struck by lightning while filling in for Misty, she becomes Weathervane, a super villain with control over all forms of weather.

Meanwhile in the city, the Loonatics are busy fixing a TV satellite amidst a wind storm so that Danger Duck can watch the weather station staring Misty Breeze. Suddenly Misty herself is blown towards the satellite due to one of Weathervane's storms which Duck quickly saves due to being a big fan. Knowing that Misty was supposed to broadcast at City Hall, the Loonatics head there to investigate what happened. Danger Duck is confused as to why anyone would want to harm Misty, though Lexi reasons that due to her bossy attitude, it's not surprising that she's made a lot of enemies. Zadavia soon contacts them about the storm engulfing the planet, encouraging them to be careful.

Trivia[]

  • After Ace saves a monorail from falling into the river, one of the passengers says she knew Ace's great-great-great grandfather. This is a reference to Bugs Bunny.
  • While Weathervane is said to have escape at the end of the episode she's seen again in the two part episode "Acmegedden" first appearing as a prisoner implying that she was captured sometime after Weathering Heights.
