A fantasy version of Rip Van Winkle involving beer-guzzling leprechauns and other strange creatures.
Notes[]
- This is the first permanent Merrie Melodies cartoon to use the Looney Tunes sign-off line "That's All Folks!" instead of "So Long, Folks!"
- The first Merrie Melodies cartoon to sign off with "That's all Folks!" was "I've Got to Sing a Torch Song".
- This cartoon was shown in theatres with The Circus Clown during its original release.
- This cartoon was released the day before the Production Code, also known as the Hays Code, became enforced, making it the last pre-Code cartoon released by Warner Bros.
- When the leprechauns first find Rip, they remove "French Postcards" from his pocket, causing them to point and laugh. These were small photos, usually produced in France, of scantily clad or semi-nude women. The mere suggestion of these in a cartoon would almost certainly not be approved by the Hays Code.
- MeTV aired a previously unreleased restored print of this short on Toon In With Me with the original ending card.
